Role Overview: What is an E-Picker?
An E-Picker is a warehouse associate responsible for receiving online orders digitally through a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) or handheld scanner. They locate the required products in the storage racks, verify product quality, pack items securely, scan to update inventory systems, and hand over packages to the dispatch team for delivery.
In today’s digital retail world, E-Pickers form the backbone of fast and accurate e-commerce delivery. Your attention to detail, speed, and ability to work in a team environment will ensure customer satisfaction and seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
Here’s what your typical workday may include:
📲 Order Handling via PDA
- Receive incoming order notifications on a PDA.
- Review product names, quantities, and locations.
- Double-check order details for completeness and accuracy.
🗂️ Picking & Product Location
- Navigate aisles and shelves to locate specific items.
- Use product codes or barcodes to ensure the correct item is picked.
- Handle products carefully to avoid any damage.
📦 Packing & Quality Checks
- Inspect items for expiry dates, physical damage, or incorrect labeling.
- Pack items securely using boxes, bubble wrap, or padding materials.
- Label packages correctly with order numbers, customer details, and barcodes.
📊 Inventory Scanning & Order Updates
- Use barcode scanners or PDAs to mark items as picked.
- Update order status in the system to reflect progress.
- Notify supervisors of any stock discrepancies or missing items.
🛵 Handover to Delivery Team
- Transfer completed packages to the dispatch zone.
- Coordinate with delivery personnel for timely pickup.
- Ensure all documentation or digital confirmations are in place.
🧹 Warehouse Maintenance
- Keep your workstation, packing areas, and aisles clean and safe.
- Follow all warehouse rules and safety procedures.
What We Expect from You
